You have probably heard that Governor Scott Plans to veto our state budget in response to the legislature rejecting his plan to weaken the right of teachers to collectively bargain. This blatant attempt to undermine workers’ rights comes straight out of the national right-wing playbook, and is not something we expect to see in Vermont. The good news is that Vermonters are standing in solidarity with our teachers, and all those who would be negatively affected by a budget veto.
To fight back against Scott’s veto threat, a coalition of labor unions, political parties, and progressive organizations are planning a day of action for tomorrow, June 7th, to tell Gov. Scott to sign the budget. Please see our current list of actions below and join Progressives at an action in your area.
